Many people say that the Catholic Church worships Mary and not Jesus. However, Catholics absolutely, love, worship, and adore Jesus Christ out Savior. After all, Jesus is God and the Son of God, according to John 1:1. He’s the God who became man for our sake, who saved us by dying on the cross to bring us to salvation. So yes, we worship and adore Him.
Scripture states that He emptied Himself of His glory in that every name in heaven and on earth and under the earth will bow before Jesus Christ. He alone is Lord. Jesus not only died on the cross but rose from the dead in power and glory. He triumphed over the devil and all of hell! Thus, we don’t believe He is merely Lord, but the Lord of lords and the King of kings. He’s the Alpha and the Omega, the only Savior in the universe.
Christ is the only one who is worthy to unlock the scrolls mentioned in the book of Revelation and all people and nations fall down before Him. So, do Catholics worship Jesus? 100%!
We love Jesus and worship Jesus alone (alone with the Holy Trinity). Any Catholic who is educated in their faith at all loves Jesus and worships Him alone. The Catholic Church condemns worshiping anyone or anything else except God.
So, yes, Catholics worship Jesus. If anyone worships something else, anyone else, it is called idolatry which Scripture condemns. But, what about Mary? Do Catholics worship Mary? The Saints? The Angels?
No, only God. If a Catholic does worship Mary or someone else, then they are going against God, the Bible and their own Church and need to be properly educated. Mary is only a human who herself is less than dust compared to almighty God. All that she has is a gift and a grace from God. She is nothing without Him.
